The Legacy faux tin Border tiles are intended for border use only.

The tile is not intended for use as a tile at its full size, yet with intricate design elements and attention to the most minute of details it will provide beauty that is sure to enhance the look of a ceiling. It provides framework for the overall appearance, giving full attention to the center of the ceiling where your tile of choice is showcased.

Our Legacy tiles are made of durable, UV stabilized .030" vinyl. They are water resistant, easy to clean, lightweight and easy to install. And, because they are water resistant, Legacy tiles are mold and mildew resistant, too! All of our Legacy ceiling tiles have been tested and achieve a Class A fire rating - essential for commercial or residential installations that require a fire rating for ceiling tiles to meet local fire codes.

These tiles work for both grid mount and direct mount applications. It fits standard 15/16" suspension systems. Will not fit in a 9/16" grid, please measure the visible width of your grid. These tiles give the decorative, tin ceiling look at an affordable price.

If you're worried about what to use for your border tiles, the Legacy Border Tile is the perfect option. They can be used for drop ceiling or direct mount application. At .030" thick, it is twice as thick as our other series of tiles.

Things to Consider:
This tile is not intended for use as a full sized tile. Its flat design works best cut to size. When cut to length and laid flat in your grid, it eliminates the worry of gaps. Since they are only .030" thick, they are very easy to cut with scissors or a utility knife.

These border tiles are exclusively designed to match our Legacy Collection of tiles. If you are using another brand, it won't be an exact color match.

Can be used in grid, or glued up. For glue up, we recommend Dap Weldwood Contact Cement, or PL Premium Advanced (Loctite brand).

Materials used in the construction of the tile(s) are 100% waterproof.

Class A Fire Rated
Tiles have been tested in accordance with ASTM 84e and scored a Class A rating for flame spread and smoke generation.

Do not use for suspended ceilings

Can not replace tiles for suspended ceilings. Although these tiles look nice they are built cheap for the price. I bought them to replace former light openings that I did not have replacement ceiling tiles for. It has very thin plastic, thinner than the clear 2x4s bought at store for 1.98 each. I glued them to the clear tiles because they sagged about 1.5" below ceiling. It still sags, just not as much now.. overall panel has nice color, just stinks they have no structure to them

We're glad you were able to figure out a way to make these work as a full tile Eric. If directly mounting to the ceiling they can work for the full ceiling project, but when used in a suspended ceiling they are designed for use only as a border tile around the edges of the room.

Brings it all together

I was worried this would be boring next to the Milan, but it really makes the room look finished!

These make a great addition to a room using a more intricate pewter tile.

Looks great with the Milan Tiles

Using this as filler for the smaller space around the perimeter of the room worked very well.

The 2' x 4' sag length wise.

We had to reinforce the tiles so they would not sag. We glued furring strips to the back side to span the grid. This works but shouldn't be necessary. They look nice but should be made sturdier.
